Apollo's Fire {The Cleveland Baroque Orchestra}

Cynthia Roberts, Olivier Brault, Julie Andrijeski and Cheryl Trace The musicians of Apollo’s Fire are early music artists drawn from an international pool of period-instrument specialists. Gathering in Cleveland from across North America and Europe, these musicians share a common artistic vision, shaped by Music Director Jeannette Sorrell’s commitment to baroque music as a form of emotional communication.

Karina Fox and Sue Yelanjian Ms. Sorrell invites musicians according to the specialized repertoire and instrumentation of each program. Many of these artists have been playing with Apollo’s Fire for nearly 20 years, but some of them appear only in program(s) that correspond to their instrument and/or specialty.

Violin
Olivier Brault, concertmaster
   A native of Montreal, Olivier brings a blend of scholarship and energy to the leadership of the violins. He holds a doctorate in baroque violin performance.
Johanna Novom, associate concertmaster
   Winner of the American Bach Soloists Young Artist competition, Johanna studied at Oberlin and Yale and trained in AF's Young Artist Apprentice program.
*Julie Andrijeski, principal
   A founding member of AF, Julie holds a doctorate from Case Western Reserve University, where she teaches baroque violin and baroque dance.
