Leipzig, 1722. Four of Germany's most respected composers face off in the battle for one of the most prestigious musical posts in Europe. Each of them supplies their finest composition. The Leipzig Town Council must choose between them. Repertoire includes lively concertos by Bach and Telemann, the Overture for Flutes and Strings by Graupner (American première), and the striking Ouverture in G by Fasch. Actors take on the roles of the candidates, each making the case for his music. Did the Town Council choose well? You decide!
