Gloria!

SANDRA SIMON, soprano
MEG BRAGLE, mezzo-soprano
APOLLO’S SINGERS & APOLLO’S MUSETTES

Sound the trumpet! Two masterpieces make their long-awaited debut on the Apollo’s Fire stage, with the splendor of chorus, orchestra, and brass. Jeannette Sorrell brings “revelatory & impassioned” leadership [Opera News] to highlights from the original 1733 portion of Bach’s B Minor Mass. Vivaldi’s Gloria in D major, written for the orphan girls of the Venice Pietà, features the youth chorus of Apollo’s Fire as well as the acclaimed Apollo’s Singers.

PRE-CONCERT LECTURE: Richard Rodda will be giving a pre-concert lecture one hour before each performance, sponsored by the Friends of Apollo's Fire.
