APOLLO’S FIRE PRESENTS
PHILIPPE JAROUSSKY IN RECITAL
JÉRÔME DUCROS, piano
French countertenor Philippe Jaroussky has taken Europe by storm, nominated as “Classical Artist of the Year” in France in 2005, and winning “Lyric Artist of the Year” in 2007 – the French equivalent of a Grammy award. Apollo’s Fire is proud to present Jaroussky in his Cleveland debut, singing a program of irresistible French art songs just days after his CarnegieHall debut. Program includes works by Fauré, Massenet, Chausson and others. This one-night-only event will give Northeast Ohio a taste of what is to come when Jaroussky returns to sing baroque music with Apollo’s Fire in 2011.
“Jaroussky, a mellifluous countertenor, invested the role with heart-breaking conviction.”
– THE NEW YORK TIMES
“Jaroussky soars as effortlessly as a bird.” – GRAMOPHONE
